These signs all start before the age of three. Although there is no permanent cure, there have been reports of children being cured. Currently, no definitive cause has been identified for autism, although genetic and environmental factors are now considered and studied as possible causal factors. This review article also discusses glutathione, which is one of the body's most important antioxidants, particularly essential in the liver detoxification process. About 80% of children with autism have reduced levels of glutathione, which increases levels of oxidative stress and can damage brain and immune system cells. Using bioinformatics, I intended to design a drug that could compensate for reduced glutathione protein levels and thus be used in the treatment of autism. Keywords: Autism, protein drug design glutathione, Bioinformatics, lack of nonverbal communication, avoiding people's gaze, unusual gestures, stacking of objects, genetic disorders, gut microbiome, neural disorders, psychiatry, autism spectrum disorders ( ASD)._________________________________________________________________________________IntroductionAutism affects 1 in 15,000 children worldwide. It is an inability to socialize or interact with people of the same or different ages. Usually appearing in the age group of 3 to 5 years, this disorder presents many symptoms. No blood test or scan can be used to identify this disease. In 1943, Dr. Leo Kanner (Johns Hopki...... middle of article ......e of naive lipoic acid as seen in Schrödinger's maestro module software. Figure 3: Figure 3 shows the structure of the prepared protein along with the ligand shown in green. Figure 4: Figure 4 shows the surface region of the receptor/active site of the protein As part of my interest during my 4 years of coursework in. engineering, I was working with lipoic acid using bioinformatics and tried to find an active site in lipolic acid that could possibly cause an increase in glutathione production in the body. A ligand that fits into. the receptor or active site region may be useful. being able to design a drug to increase glutathione production which in turn would generate a drug to cure autism. This was possible thanks to the software, but the way. how the ingestion of lipoic acid supplements could actually affect an autistic person remains to be determined..
