More than 375,000 nail technicians face possible risks to their health every day (“Health Risks”). Today's salons are investing in the latest products. Hygiene is the most important thing in any salon to prevent illness or injury among cosmetologists and clients. The ingredients in these hair products are becoming increasingly difficult for some customers to handle. Cosmetologists need to understand how to keep us and our clients safe. Tools, instruments and furniture cleaning are the most important. Clients will still enter and exit the salon. The beautician will not always know who the person in the salon is. Wash and sanitize your hands before and after a client. Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) will also help prevent illness (Frangie). To prevent illness and bacteria, cosmetologists must disinfect tools and furniture before and after providing a service to a client. Cosmetologists and clients are both affected by improper sanitation and care. Cosmetologists will always remain in their workspace until the end of their shift. They will continually breathe dangerous fumes from the many chemicals used. These fumes could cause health risks in the future. Clients will enter and exit the salon to perform their services. If cleaning skills are inadequate and cosmetologists care less about the health of their clients, clients risk contracting a bacterial disease or even a fatal disease. Diseases like hepatitis, HIV and AIDS can potentially infect your tools. Cosmetologists and nail technicians don't know who will enter and leave the salon.
