“Year after year, women in their twenties come to New York in search of the two Ls: labels and love” is the very catchy sentence that opens the film with “Labels or” by Fergie. Love' as the soundtrack and The Big Apple as the introductory shot. The scaling inferred from the bird's eye view of New York City, showing its metropolitan atmosphere with its skyscrapers and the famous Brooklyn Bridge; to the citizens of the City; then to the main actors of the film. A fifteen-year-old girl watches the film, mesmerizing the town into ecstasy while admiring the ladies' lean white bodies. And finally, but never forgotten, she gets carried away by the funky, upbeat beat of the song emphasizing “Gucci, Fendi, [and] Prada.” . .” This is the introduction to Sex and the City and the focus of its cinematography. With its elements, the film can honestly influence teenage girls. Yet even though critics like Maya Gordon of Psychology of Women Quarterly argue that the media contributes to sexual objectification and values women "based on their appearance," this film should be an exception. reviews. This deserves a break. This is the information technology generation. Danger is around the corner, when one click of a mouse or remote control and all the sex-related garbage can come out of the monitor. The truth is, a vulnerable teenager can easily get carried away by temptations. As a teenager, I can understand how these sweet girls feel about how horrible their body shapes are, how ugly their faces are, and how fashion brands seem to be worth more than anything in the world. Fashion brands, tiny bodies, and sexual activities are all featured in Sex and the City. Of... middle of paper ......f women and individuality, fashion sense, and passion in a sexual act sets it apart from being sexually objectifying. Likewise, this type of film also requires a higher cognitive ability, capable of reasoning and thinking about the delicate features of the whole image. Overall, the New York setting and the opening credits of the rapid transition between sunrise and sunset represent the diversity of people. the current situation and how this generation is changing faster than we can imagine. Therefore, with the passage of time and the growing population, it is no longer useful to evaluate others but our own. We are what we were made to be.
