  • Essay / Abortion in Canada - 1531

Abortion is the termination of a human pregnancy that does not result in the birth of a child. There are two types of abortion: medical abortion and surgical abortion. Medical abortion can be performed before 49 days of pregnancy using pharmaceutical medications. Surgical abortion takes place using surgical instruments between 6 and 14 weeks of pregnancy. Both methods are safe. It depends on the size of the fetus and the week of pregnancy. Abortion, the removal of a fetus from a woman's body, should be permitted because of women's freedom, life opportunities and the protection of victims. As is known, some unwanted pregnancies can often be harmful and distressing for a woman. Women should have the right over their bodies to choose whether or not to feed the fetus. In recent decades, women have not had the freedom to have abortions in many countries around the world. There have always been controversies over abortion. Every individual has different opinions on the legality of abortion. Some people are against abortion for personal religious reasons or beliefs. For those who do not believe in abortion, it is because they see it as killing a fetus, which is a human being. Others support abortion because they believe in women's rights. Abortion laws vary from country to country, and abortion is not legal everywhere. It is illegal in all conditions, but only allowed to save a woman's life in countries like Brazil, Nigeria, United Arab Emirates and Ireland. However, abortion is legal without any restrictions in countries such as Canada, Albania and Italy. In recent decades, abortion was considered a criminal act in Canada.
