    After four years of hard fighting, Canadians celebrated the end of the Great War. Many returned home in early 1919, only to be dejected by lack of employment and other disappointments. However, little by little, the good times returned to Canada, as the country entered a new era known as the “Roaring Twenties.” Many Canadians participated in the good life as wealthy and middle-income families had more money to spend. Economic prosperity and technological advances have brought pleasure to the lives of Canadians. Canadians listened to their radios, drove their cars, cheered on their local sports teams, followed new fashion trends, listened to the same music and danced the same. Additionally, the 1920s marked the growth of cinema as Canadians filled theaters to watch their favorite stars. The 1920s were one of the most important and revolutionary periods for the film industry. During this decade, the film industry underwent massive changes that would completely change what films were or stood for. After the Great War, more and more people began to view cinema as a form of entertainment. This increased attention has sparked changes in the industry, allowing the moviegoer's experience to change significantly for the better. Many new genres, ideas, and technologies emerged in the 1920s and would later dominate the industry. The 1920s saw massive changes take place in the film industry that would help it get closer to what it is today. The decade was largely dominated by silent films, but the creation of sound films followed afterwards. These innovations have greatly improved films and made them more immersive and exciting for the viewer. Even though the industry has been taken over by Hollywood, many Canadians have greatly contributed to and influenced the industry. Hollywood has affected the lifestyle of Canadians in many ways, including fashion. For example, women started wearing pants after actress Markebe Dietrich started wearing them on screen. Undershirts also lost their trend when Clark Gable appeared on screen without one. Not only has the industry changed the way people dress, but it has also changed the way Canadians live, going to Hollywood to work and pursue their careers. The film industry has greatly influenced the lives of famous producers, screenwriters, actors and many more..
