Essay / Benefits of Smoking in Public Places - 893
Tired of inhaling deadly fumes when you are out and having fun at social public events? I feel like everywhere I go, someone is smoking in public places, polluting the natural air with deadly chemicals. Smoking seems to have become a trend! Why should I suffer the same, or even deadlier, consequences for someone else's actions? I would love to visit public places without having to worry about inhaling harmful chemicals into my lungs. The purpose of this article is to give you an overview of how banning smoking in public could have a very positive outcome. I agree that an individual should be able to legitimately smoke as much as they want, but I would like to argue that it is no longer a right when you start affecting others around you. Although there are designated smoke zones in some public places, the movement of chemicals nearby can still have harmful effects on people nearby. The importance of this article is to justify why smoking in public should be banned and what positive result we could achieve if these measures were taken. Finally, I would like to explain the benefits of banning smoking in public places and how it will protect our environment. For decades, smoking has been a normal habit for most and something they consider a right to be able to do freely. Modern times now place limits on where an individual can smoke freely. It has been said that some feel certain areas should be banned from smoking because of the danger it can pose to others. In my opinion, even though there are some limitations, there is always a way around it, which means that smoking in public always seems to find a way to harm others. Tobacco smoke can cause strokes, heart disease and even cancer. Smoking...... middle of paper ...... continuing to smoke can cause infertility, so now it not only has the effect of limiting lifespan, but it could also prevent fertility from producing the life. If a mother decides to smoke while pregnant, her child could also become addicted to tobacco. Society as a whole could suffer from smokers, whether through observation or influence. In conclusion, is it really worth affecting others in public places just because one or a few people decide they want to smoke? Should a child's health be put at risk because his parents decide he needs his nicotine fix? Should we decide not to attend certain social events because smokers crowd around and pollute the air with their dangerous fumes? If studies prove that smoking in unsafe places can have deadly effects on those around us, why do we wonder if it's something we should do ?
