Charles Dickens was born on February 7, 1812. His mother's name was Elizabeth and his father's name was John Dickens. His father worked as a clerk at the Naval Pay Office (biography.com). His father was also in great debt and was sent to prison in eighteen twenty-four. Charles, his mother, and his siblings were sent to work to help pay off his father's debt so he could be released from prison. At twelve years old, Charles was still working at the “Blacking Factory” where his family worked. (Biography.com) His mother gave him no choice but to continue working at the factory, but his father disagreed with her choices and removed Charles from that job. Between 6:24 p.m. and 6:27 p.m., Charles was also a day pupil at a London school as a tutor. When Charles was fifteen, he worked as an office boy for lawyers. He worked there while he studied shorthand at night. Charles Dickens was always afraid of working at the "Blacking Factory" and he only told his wife Catherine Dickens and his friend John Foster about his experience. But he found a way to turn his horrible experience into a wonderful gift, Charles could write. He talks about his difficult times at the factory through his books he wrote, “David Copperfield” and “Great Expectations”. (biography.com) Charles became an “independent” journalist in 1829 at the Doctors Commons Court. (biography.com) Charles fell in love around 6:30 p.m. after meeting a beautiful woman, Maria Beadnell. She was the daughter of a banker. He achieved great success in shorthand around 6:32 p.m. His relationship with Maria collapsed in 6:33 p.m. because of his relationship with Maria... middle of paper ...... Harles Darnay had been locked up in “La Force” waits for his trace to the guillotine. The Manette Family goes to Paris to save Charles Darnay. They followed his (first) lead and he was declared innocent. When Madame Defarge found Dr. Manette's old diary, he said that he hated Charles Darnay because he was part of the nobility and condemned him to death. They bring him back, declare Charles Darnay guilty and hand him over to the Force to prepare the guillotine. Sydney Carton found her way into “La Force” by blackmailing the former Franco-English spy. When Sydney came in he told Charles Darnay to swap clothes with him and he sat him down and told him to write a letter to Lucie. After writing the letter, he knocked out Charles Darnay and the guards, thinking it was Sydney Carton, eliminated him. The Manette family returns to London and lives a happy life.
