HIV is a very serious virus that slowly but surely attacks the immune system. HIV stands for human immunodeficiency virus. It is one of the most serious diseases and a leading cause of death in the United States. Once a person is infected with this virus, it becomes very difficult for the body to fight any disease or any other type of illness. Additionally, when HIV is very advanced, that is when it leads to AIDS. AIDS is an acronym that stands for acquired immunodeficiency syndrome and it is caused by the HIV virus. Unfortunately, there is currently no cure for this disease. This disease is a very serious illness that affects life on many levels. It affects people emotionally and their relationships with others. Some of the horrible Only certain fluids (blood, semen (cum), pre-seminal fluid (pre-cum), rectal fluids, vaginal fluids, and breast milk) from an HIV-infected person can transmit HIV (cdc.gov) . Therefore, everyone should be obliged to get tested for AIDS in order to avoid transmitting it to other human beings and to stay healthy. AIDS is not only a very serious illness, it is life-threatening and endangers other sexually active people. As a result, anyone engaging in sexual activity should get tested to be safe and avoid spreading this virus to others. However, it is important for everyone to know that if a person is having sex, then they are already considered “at risk”. I strongly believe that testing should be offered universally so that many people are more aware of their overall health. These are people's lives that are in danger and many adults today are sexually active. Additionally, it is always better to know if you are HIV-free than to find out once the virus has progressed and there is little that can be done about it. According to the CDC, it is strongly recommended that everyone between the ages of 13 and 64 get tested at least once a year as a doctor.
