    Emotions Self-Reflection JournalEmotion facilitates human survival through evolution and serves as an adaptation in both intrapersonal and interpersonal aspects. For example, emotions not only allow people to self-regulate their thoughts and behaviors in the face of challenges, but they also provide opportunities to share their feelings and maintain relationships with others (Shiota & Kalat, 2012). In my introspective journal, I would like to share my emotions, especially my anxiety, grief and hope, related to my past experiences. These experiences triggered strong emotional reactions that tapped into my inner feelings. Basically, emotions include physical arousal, emotional expression, and cognitive process (Ciccarelli & White, 2012). Remembering these events gives me insight into both experiences and reactions for a better understanding of my own emotions. Anxiety I feel anxious almost every semester in college. However, this emotion was the strongest in the current semester due to the academic load. According to Kumaraswamy (2013), studying at university can be a stressful time in which students begin to develop their independence and academic pressure often leads to anxiety (Wahab et al., 2013). I gradually improved my academic results and remained on scholarship. I should be proud of my success. Indeed, my previous academic excellence had put overwhelming pressure on myself to set even higher expectations for myself and at least maintain my performance because I have this striving for the best personality. Additionally, handling multiple assignments while ensuring the best performance is a very difficult task as it can result in suffering on each task. All of these situations triggered anxiety in me. Sto...... in the middle of the article ......showed the effectiveness of using several emotion regulation strategies, but it also gave me a better understanding of the role of emotion in human development. For example, anxiety is a negative emotion, but an optimal level of anxiety motivates and directs efforts to reduce tension. While bereavement, despite the risk of developing depression, strengthens people's resilience by integrating the loss into their lives. Accordingly, the Yerkes-Dodson law suggests that a moderate level of arousal can enhance performance rather than impair it (Ciccarelli & White, 2012). Maintaining hope is beneficial, but we still need to be aware of the feasibility of the goal to avoid unrealistic hope. In short, any emotion, whether positive or negative, at its optimal level can have a beneficial impact on improving our development in various aspects such as social and psychological aspects..
