    Poverty is also the only reason behind Walter's irrational decisions. All Walter wants to gain as an individual is happiness for his family, especially his son Travis. Walter's missed opportunities were all due to poverty, but now there is the possibility of money and change. (1.1.59) Walter does everything so that his son does not feel the poverty that the family is going through. For Walter, the only way out of poverty is the dream he has of a liquor store and for that very dream he is willing to do anything. Obstacles arise on the path; corruption is a problem Walter has to resort to. And without seriously thinking about it, his passion takes away the best from him and the availability of money seems the best fit. "Yeah. You see, this little liquor store that we had in mind cost seventy-five thousand and we estimated that the initial investment for this place would be around thirty thousand, you see.
