    Relief of the existence of witches and witchcraft has been around for centuries. There was a time when people blamed all their troubles and problems on anyone they thought was a witch. Between the 16th and 18th centuries, around 50,000 people, including women, were accused of witchcraft and executed in Scotland. Those prosecuted were accused by the government and the Catholic Church of crimes such as heresy, satanic worship, natural disasters, crimes against the Church and even the misfortune of their neighbors or stillborn children . Along with these crimes, they were also falsely accused of ridiculous things because that was the best way to blame someone. The neighbors' misfortune, the strange behavior of the animals, all were blamed on these innocent people who were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. As trials began in Scotland around the early 1600s, torture methods became more severe. Once a person was accused of practicing witchcraft, they were unlikely to continue leading an innocent life.
