    Education is the act or process of transmitting or acquiring general knowledge or skills, as in a profession developing reasoning and judgment skills, and generally to prepare oneself or others intellectually for adult life. Before education was not popular, the idea that children should go to school was new. It turns out that to get into college you need a high school diploma, and most jobs require some type of education. So it’s a necessity rather than a need these days. Some places in the world have better levels of education than others, putting them in first place. This article will discuss these differences. In Britain and Japan, schools were primarily for a small elite. Most children worked alongside their parents on peasant farms and did jobs their parents could not do. Until now, industrialization required basic education as part of Japanese government reforms. Japanese education traditionally emphasized discipline, order, harmony, and lots of study and memorization. Then later the emphasis shifted to mathematics and science. “Standardized testing, which is now becoming popular in the United States, has also played a major role in Japanese education, including allowing students to advance to higher levels.” Their graduation rate is much higher than in the United States, more than 90% higher. Places at most major universities are limited, meaning that fewer than half of high school graduates can go to college. “This makes the academic process supremely important to the Japanese. It doesn't depend so much on the wealth of the family or the number of extracurricular activities one can do, but rather on standardized tests, because this is the key criterion. Focusing on formal education is their best progress. Now that we have looked at other countries' school systems, it is best to try to understand where we are lacking as a country and individually. Every school system is different, but education is universal. Everyone is trying to understand the gist of it to benefit from it in every possible way. Education today is conventional and the way the world views it is different from many years ago. Individuals and societies are looked down upon if they do not seek education or have a degree or stable career by a certain age. I believe that education is important, whether prestigious or not. The little we know can still generate opportunities.
