Diabetes is a dangerous disease, especially if left untreated. Diabetes can affect things like your eyesight and blood flow. Other complications of diabetes include kidney failure, coronary heart disease, and peripheral vascular disease. Another dangerous risk of untreated diabetes is paralysis and amputation. Poor circulation in the lower limbs and other extremities leads to amputation and gangrene. There is also a possible risk in the event of a diabetic coma. There are three types of diabetes. They are called type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes and gestational diabetes. In most cases, type 1 diabetes is caused by genetics or a serious childhood illness that has damaged immune system cells. Type 1 diabetes is often called “juvenile diabetes” and is commonly found in children. On the other hand, type 2 diabetes is common in adults. Many factors cause type 2 diabetes. A few of these factors are obesity and poor lifestyle decisions, such as lack of exercise and excessive energy consumption. ..... middle of paper ....../>. “Gestational diabetes.” National Diabetes Information Center.
