  • Essay / The Different Types of Media - 645

The Different Types of MediaI think all the different types of media have many different influences on society, especially on individuals. There is a huge variety of media including: television, newspapers, radio, magazines, advertisements, etc. It seems that the more society develops, the more difficult it becomes to escape the media. Advertising is one of the most common forms of media. Advertisements are not only one of the most common forms of media, but also one of the most overexposed types of media there is. Indeed, advertisements appear in all types of existing media. Creating advertisements is therefore an essential way for people to “advertise” or raise awareness about their products. A good example of this is in magazines, many teen magazines featuring life stories, surveys/questionnaires, celebrity interviews, etc. However, the person who bought this magazine does not realize that by simply reading the magazine, they are secretly influenced to spend their money. often useless objects. For example, the teen magazine Bliss has pages featuring models styling the latest clothing trends, thereby advertising the clothes to the reader, but also at the same time encouraging the reader to purchase clothes. This is an extreme type of advertising. But advertising is not limited to magazines. It also plays an important role on television, whether it is simply advertising a television program or a cosmetic product. Television is another form of extreme media. With lots of different options for hundreds of different channels eg Sky, digital, Freeview etc. with...... middle of paper...... ek help from someone they know can get confidential advice through an agony aunt page. They show extraordinary real-life situations that people face, stories like "my best friend and my father's affair." Newspapers are once again a very political form of media. They hold the key to informing the public about political and world events. For example, the Iraq War, Prime Minister elections, etc. Newspapers come in two basic forms: tabloids (which mainly feature gossip and less political events) and broadsheets (both of which are more economic and political). The forms of media discussed are just some of the different types of media that harass audiences in the 21st century. As the years go by, I'm sure our media types will be discovered and the old media types will be overused and overexposed like never before..
