  • Essay / Museum - 690

I chose the Dallas Museum of Art because of its wide variety of different artworks. I loved the museum's extensive modern art collections which I've really been delving into lately. Additionally, this museum brings different ideas and new cultures of different works of art that I never really had the pleasure of discovering. My time at the Dallas Museum of Art was better than ever. I got to spend it with my fiancée experiencing something beautiful, it was so exciting. The museum was very big and there wasn't enough time in one day to see everything. It takes real time to get the most out of museums. That's why we plan to go back soon to finish going through everything and next time we will bring our nieces and nephews. We had so much fun with the arts and crafts area of the museum that you saw so many adults even as we immersed ourselves in the pure fun of it all. This was not my first visit to a museum, my first museum that I have ever seen. was the Gulf Coast Museum. There were real historical artifacts from Janice Lyn Joplin, Robert Rauschenberg and Jamaal Charles, it was very cool. I had such a great experience there that I ended up working there for a year and a half. This was my first time at the Dallas Museum of Art which I plan to visit soon. The atmosphere of the museum was so welcoming to people who came from so far to see it and it was intimidating because it was so huge. Overwhelming because you wanted to see everything in one day, but it was possible, incredibly beautiful, just to experience it all. There was so much to take away from this particular museum experience. Security was very high, but it was so bad to be able to stand there or feel uncomfortable that they were watching you. You know their job is to make sure there is no point of contact with the ground in the middle of the paper. I never saw this in the painting, even if I wanted to see it I just couldn't. Taking this art appreciation class with such an amazing teacher made me see art more broadly. Thus, my experience through the museum's exhibitions allowed me to understand a culture that I did not know much about before. I learned why the artist creates art to create places for human purposes. Creating extraordinary versions of the commonly seen and commemorating moments in life that sometimes an image simply cannot capture. The artwork also gives tangible form to the unknown, to feelings and ideas you never imagined you could have. Works of art help us show ourselves vision and see the world from a new perspective. Now, thanks to this course, I really research the content of the artwork and its subject matter as interpreted. I like to look for the message behind a work of art
