Some believe that methods such as "withdrawal" and other rumors to prevent pregnancy will prevent them from getting pregnant. Many teenagers believe that "this will never happen to me." Unfortunately, pregnancies take teenagers by surprise and they do not understand what is happening to them when pregnancy symptoms appear. It doesn't help that the media glorifies sex and irresponsibility. This factor alone contributes to an increase in the number of adolescents participating in promiscuous behaviors. It's considered a cool and acceptable thing to do. Many teenagers become parents because they come from homes with a lack of love and understanding, especially with the roller coaster emotions most experience during adolescence. When a teenager perceives a lack of love, they look for people and things that feel this emptiness. During this transitional period during their teenage years, they look for ways to experience voids in their lives through sex, drugs, bad friends, rebellion, and irresponsibility. This behavior, along with other poor decisions regarding health and their body, can have negative consequences.
