(27) Daisy and Tom were born into great wealth, always living a life of luxury and opulence. They have fully realized the American dream that all people aspire to achieve and are living a highly coveted life. However, both of their characters are so corrupt and selfish that the good faith and morality that should be carried out in their privileged lives are hindered. Daisy lives her privileged life without purpose; she drifts through his life and doesn't take control of his priorities. Her own perspective on life is shown when she introduces her daughter. Even though she shows affection to her daughter, she has a habit of bragging about her and showing off her. (123) Her environment makes no sense to her. She uses the people around her to fit into the social scene and boast of her wealth and false happiness, which gets in the way of her morals and emotions as a human being. For Daisy, life has no real meaning. She treats others horribly without a care in the world. In the car with
