Essay / Canadian Immigrants in Canada - 700
Canada is a very big country where many immigrants want to achieve their goals and have a good life. According to government statistics (October 2013), the population of Canada is 35,295,770 and continues to increase. Every year, more and more people from all countries around the world move to Canada to settle down, find a new job and start a perfect life. It is very difficult to behave like a born and raised Canadian in front of people from different countries, cultures and backgrounds. The Canadian government supports newcomers through many trainings and courses, but it is the responsibility of immigrants to prepare for new circumstances, they have to do a lot of work themselves just to feel safe in a new place and a new life. Immigrants need to consider a few very important things before making the decision to change location and lifestyle. Although they may be great specialists in their field, emigrants must learn about Canadian culture, Canadian labor rules and, most importantly, they must adopt this knowledge into their new lives. All people are raised and educated according to the principles and rules of their homeland. First, before moving to Canada, immigrants should research the cultural differences between Canada and their country of origin. According to Gignac (2013), Canada is very attractive to people who seek economic stability and opportunity, as well as a peaceful and safe place. However, to take advantage of all opportunities, immigrants should learn as much as possible about Canada, what and who is important in the lives of Canadians and why. Small things, such as small talk, can make life easier for newcomers, help them make friends or create distance between Canadians and their situation. Life here can really bring a lot of good; emigrants can very easily find themselves in a new situation and reality. After a few difficult times, they can find themselves in a place that meets their needs, allows them to flourish professionally and allows them to find balance and peace of mind. In conclusion, because immigrants choose a new place to live and change their style by settling in Canada, it is their responsibility to adopt Canadian culture, work rules and use all this in their life. Canada is a big country with many possibilities and perspectives for everyone on one condition: immigrants must adapt and accept the rules that Canadians respect and that make Canada such a peaceful and friendly place. All changes can be just good and after a few years all newcomers may wonder how they could have lived before making such an important immigration decision..
