Essay / The problem of obesity and overweight - 649
Obesity and overweight have become a global problem over the last decade. According to the World Health Organization, in 2005, approximately 1.6 billion adults over the age of 15 were overweight, at least 400 million adults are obese, and at least 20 million children under 5 years are overweight. Experts estimate that if current trends continue by 2015, approximately 2.3 billion adults will be overweight and more than 700 million will be obese. The scale of the obesity problem has many serious consequences for individuals and government health systems. Obesity is a concern because of its implications on an individual's health, as it increases the risk of many diseases and health problems. Being obese means having so much body fat that your health is in danger. However, being fat is simply not an opinion. Having too much body fat can lead to many diseases. Obesity and overweight have become a global problem over the past decade. Modern poverty is so closely linked to obesity for many reasons. First of all, the poor are ignorant and poorly informed about their health and diet. Obviously, this is why they don't really know what they are doing or even how they take the risk of eating certain types of food. Poor people look for tasty foods without paying attention to food freshness and safety. Additionally, children grow up without a good understanding of good nutrition. It is therefore time to reintroduce nutrition into families and even into schools for children. Second, the poor cannot afford healthy foods. A poor, hungry person will buy the cheapest calories they can find. In fact, in today's world, the cheapest calories come from junk food. It's cheaper and...paper...things like a hamburger or sausages, than peeling and boiling potatoes, cooking vegetables, and making meatloaf. Finally, the poor do not have enough money to join fitness centers. Fitness centers, as everyone knows, are very expensive. Especially he or she needs a personal trainer, which will also cost him or her a lot more money to pay. In addition to this, everyone who joins a fitness center has to follow a certain diet, which means that these poor people have to buy special and healthy foods, which they definitely cannot afford. Overall, poor or rich people should be more aware of the effects of obesity. Additionally, they should pay attention to how it affects their health. This problem is spreading and will only continue to spread until people understand that obesity is truly dangerous. Obese or physically fit people should be encouraged to adopt a healthy lifestyle, eat healthily and exercise..
