Essay / Hideout Analysis by Corrie Tenboom - 763
In the late 1930s, Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party took action. Hitler is commonly referenced and linked to World War II and became famous for his brutal dictatorship in Germany. Adolf Hitler began the persecution of the Jews with the belief that they were insignificant to the human race. Much like the Jews, he believed that the disabled, mentally ill, and elderly did not deserve the right to live. This horrific genocide killed more than two-thirds of Europe's Jewish population. 6,000,000 Jews were murdered in concentration camps and mistreated by the Nazis. As everyone knows, people generally recognize the term "concentration camp" and immediately refer to the prison camps that Jews were sent to during the Holocaust. In Corrie Tenboom's famous collective story of her imprisonment, The Hiding Place, she writes a visual description of exactly how Jews were treated in these camps. Women were forced to stand naked in front of Nazi guards for no reason, making them feel less than human and animal. People were regularly beaten and killed. One of the worst aspects of these camps was the barbaric gas chambers. Men, women and children would be tricked and dragged into rooms in groups to stand up and be slaughtered by the dozens. The concentration camps constitute what can be considered the cruelest and most barbaric part of the history of the Second World War. Different concentration camps were spread across Europe and Germany. Around 9,000 Nazi labor and concentration camps were established by Hitler's powerful armed forces. Among these camps, the best known was undoubtedly the infamous Auschwitz. About 90% of the Jews killed during the Holocaust were killed in the gas chambers of Auschwitz. Situated ...... middle of paper ...... these events, it is important to explore our global history more deeply and learn more about our past. The Holocaust was a genocide that can never be forgotten. Adolf Hitler was sadistic in his beliefs and after the war he committed suicide. Unfortunately, it took millions of deaths for the war to end. In 1945, the war between the Allies and the Axis powers officially ended, but the war between our beliefs in God and the world's view of our faith will never end. As Christians, we will be ostracized because of our love for Jesus until the day he returns. The Holocaust taught people to realize that even in the most difficult situations, there is always hope and always light at the end of the tunnel. The perseverance of the Jewish people is a constant reminder to never give up. Even in this massacre, there was an end. In this we see that the clear light of God shines through the darkness..
